We are not testing for performance. We are testing for knowlegde of basic dance theory and responsible adult instruction in a classroom situation that may involve teaching children and/or adults dance classes of any style or technique. We know you are anxious to get certified and recognized by Dance & Gym USA® We prefer that you have had at least 2 years of teaching experience prior to taking our exam, but this is not required for application. Our test is geared towards dance studios for children and young adults. Ballet terminology is helpful. We are looking for responsible, quality, mature instructors who are dedicated and passionate about the art of teaching dance. Great customer service should also be taken into consideration, because, after all, you are working with the public. To take the test: Your exam will be evaluated and the results will be emailed to you unless you prefer snail mail in which case we can also mail a hard copy of the dance teacher certification exam to you.
