Our membership test provided here assures that dance teachers meet minimum requirements for standards compliant dance studios and dance instructors.

We are not testing for performance. We are testing for knowlegde of basic dance theory and responsible adult instruction in a classroom situation that may involve teaching children and/or adults dance classes of any style or technique.

DANCE TEACHER CERTIFICATION

If you are anxious to get certified and recognized by Dance & Gym USA® please click on the link below to apply for the Dance Teacher Certification Exam. This is primarily a multiple choice test, but your comments and essay questions will count toward your total score. You must get an overall score of 92% to qualify for certification. The exam includes 54 multiple choice and essay questions.

To take the test:

The one time fee for the standards compliant exam is 79.99 and this will enroll
you as a life time member in the Certified Dance Teachers of Dance & Gym USA®
The one time fee for the Platinum Membership is 129.99 and this will also enroll you as a life time member. Platinum applicants must submit a copy of criminal and child abuse clearances, as required by the state or area in which you are residing.
